Giant flying boats!

Many years ago, when humanity had escaped the horrors of war and were looking to the skies again, many of the captains of industry were looking for something new and exciting to thrill the potential throng of travelers that were raring to go. One of the options at the time was to promote seaplanes. They had been a thing when Howard Hughes created his Hughes H-4 Hercules flying boat, a creation that intrigued and excited so many who were just gagging to fly. What made this plane so appealing is that it was – literally – a boat, so could land almost anywhere – runway or not. And some major manufacturers actually constructed flying boats, following Hughes’ lead.

But what happened to them? Why did they not take off . . . literally? Watch this video and learn more about what might have been, courtesy of Mustard.com
