Navmii, you have me

You may not be aware of a rather great travel product – Navmii.  It’s been around for decades, but (we feel) doesn’t have the visibility that it should have.

The company itself has its fingers in lots of areas, but for our audience, Navmii is an excellent alternative / companion to the ever-present Google Maps.

Like Maps, it is free to use and is a mapping solution.  But, one feature that it has is that you can download maps to your device in areas where connectivity is patchy

And the downloadable maps are full-featured, including real-time traffic updates provided by Inrix and crowdsourced from millions of Navmii drivers,  turn-by-turn voice guided instructions with alternative routes and more.

We’ve used it out in the middle of data-free  Italy and it was a life-saver.

And did we mention that it’s free to download and use? You can download it from the Google and Apple stores.
