No, Mr Bond. I expect you to sigh

Some people have just got it made. Whether it’s money, beauty, brains, some people just have all of the luck. And, of course, luck is only a minor part. Connections is probably the most important skill to have, as it helps most of us punters to slowly work our way up the ladder. But, some people have all of that, and more. Take, for example, Ian Fleming, the father of the 007 James Bond franchise. His books and films are legend, and take us to places where we don’t normally go. But, he was lucky: Fleming came from a wealthy family connected to the merchant bank Robert Fleming & Co., and his father was the Member of Parliament for Henley from 1910 until his death on the Western Front in 1917 ….. as you do.

Being in those lofty places, there are usually perks that accompany them, and Fleming certainly had them at his fingertips. One of which was exotic travel which, when Fleming and Bond were at their height, was not always easy and not always affordable.

But we have good news for you. Mr. Fleming left behind a treat for the rest of us: Oracabessa. You’ll recognize this place from the film Goldeneye. And, of course, you can stay there and lounge amongst the “haves.” Set in lush gardens, The GoldenEye retreat features private beaches, hidden coves and a saltwater lagoon. This tropical property was Ian Fleming’s Jamaican retreat, and all 14 James Bond novels were written here.

At GoldenEye you’ll find 3 outdoor pools, and full spa. You can choose from a range of villas, beach huts and cottages, including beachfront and lagoon-front properties. GoldenEye is located a 20-minute drive east of Ocho Rios. It is a 90-minute drive from Montego Bay International Airport and an 8-minute drive from Ian Fleming Private Airport.
