Pillow fight at  30,000 feet

Now, here’s something to get excited about. If you have the means ($$$) and the time, then Air New Zealand are your new best friends. They’re introducing a new service where Boeing 787s are being refitted to include bunk beds. By 2024, passengers will be able to book four-hour sessions in flat sleeping pods on ultra-long-haul routes. We’re not sure how much sleep you can get in four hours, but we guess that any little bit helps.

For those who haven’t flown Air New Zealand (or even knew the airline existed) they are the flag carrier airline of New Zealand. Based in Auckland, the airline operates scheduled passenger flights to 20 domestic and 30 international destinations in 18 countries, primarily around and within the Pacific Rim. The airline has been a member of the Star Alliance since 1999. Note the Star Alliance connection.

As part of Star Alliance, each of the airlines listed here offer deals and perks when you choose one of the partners: Air Canada, Air Serbia, airBaltic, Brussels Airlines, Bulgaria Air, EgyptAir, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Olympic Air, S7 Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, TAP Portugal, TAROM, and Turkish Airlines.
