When things go wrong

We have written a few posts about how travel can be a nightmare at times, especially when the travel companies don’t seem to solve the issues (sometimes no matter how hard they try.) It could be a cascade of problems that they have no control over, or it could external influences – Covid anyone? – or it could just be bad management of the company itself. Or all of the above? Regardless, there are laws and contracts and regulations put into place to aid and assist us lowly travelers, and the companies must comply, or face some rather monumental consequences. We’ve written a number of posts about this (see here) and it feels like we write them more than we need to.

Some of the biggest grievances emanate from delayed or canceled flights, hotels, car rentals or even holidays. Understand that many disruptions are for your safety. And, for sure, the travel companies do not want this to anyone, especially themselves.

So what can you do to protect yourself?

We have a few ideas, and that is all based on simple pre-planning and thinking in a “disaster recovery mindset. Part of that is to sensibly use products and services that save the day. We’re introducing new affiliate friends AirHelp. As they say themselves, they solve more flight problems. As the world’s largest flight compensation company, we work across more countries, and can help in more situations than anyone else. And, they’re the world’s largest air passenger rights organization, here to help passengers since 2013. Click here to sign-up. As they say – have you had a delayed or canceled flight? Get up to €600 per passenger for flights in the last 3 years. Regardless of the ticket price.

You may want to look at your travel (health) coverage, too. Click below for World Nomads.
